Case History:
On January 15, 2009, The Star Tribune Company and Star Tribune Holdings Corporation (together, "Star Tribune") filed voluntary petitions to reorganize under chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (the "Bankruptcy Court"). Star Tribune’s chapter 11 cases were assigned to the Honorable Robert D. Drain and are being jointly administered under case number 09-10244 (RDD).
On January 28, 2009, the United States Trustee for the Southern District of New York appointed an official committee of unsecured creditors in these Chapter 11 Cases.
On March 16, 2009, Star Tribune filed their schedules of assets and liabilities (the "Schedules") and statements of financial affairs (the "SoFAs"). These Schedules and SoFAs are available by clicking

On April 14, 2009, the Bankruptcy Court filed an order (the "Bar Date Order") establishing May 27, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. (prevailing Eastern Time) as the deadline for individuals and non-governmental units to file proofs of claim against Star Tribune and July 14, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. (prevailing Eastern Time) as the deadline for governmental units to file proofs of claim against Star Tribune. On June 18, 2009, Star Tribune filed their Joint Plan of Reorganization (later amended) and Disclosure Statement along with a motion to approve procedures to solicit acceptances of the Plan of Reorganization. On July 30, 2009, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order approving the Disclosure Statement and solicitation procedures. After solicitation was completed and following a hearing, on September 17, 2009, the Bankruptcy Court confirmed Star Tribune's Plan. To view the confirmation order, click here.
